March Update

Hey,

I haven’t blogged in a while, well a while for me anyway. I have had such a busy month! So much to write about that I couldn’t think of a title so yey… March!

March is the busiest time of the year (except Christmas) for the Hollings family as it seems everyone was born in that one month.

Including ME!

That’s right! 10^th March 1995 Friday’s child is fair of face, or something like that… Anyway the weekend before my birthday I took the train home to surprise my dad when he came back from NY for his 50^th(3 days before mine).

I ran out shouting “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” and he dropped his bags and said “What are you doing here?” (Thanks dad) but he was overjoyed really, kudos on mum for keeping it a secret for such a long time that’s very hard for her. So after the initial dive-hug on the father we had a massive birthday meal for everyone before setting back off to uni the next day… very busy weekend.

The day after I got back from home was my 19^thbirthday, I didn’t really do that much on my actual birthday except go to the pub and uni because I had a massive blow out ‘mad hatter’s tea party / Disney themed night’

It was a dream come true as I love Disney and I’m obsessed with Alice in Wonderland! Everyone gathered at mine and then we headed out into Canterbury like a bunch of hyper 10 year olds… ok that might have just been me, but still! The whole thing made for an amazing night and awesome memories! Love you guys.

On the 25^th of March I trundled with my 3 best friends with massive suitcases to our local pub at 7pm to board a coach to Andorra with the university’s snow society, ‘C4 SnowSports’. I only got back yesterday and already I am sitting on the train back to Newcastle, I must be mad. 14 hour coach and ferry journey and then 5 hours on a train back to the North, I can’t tell you how tired I am… I lied, I’M SO TIRED.

Skiing all day and dancing all night is so tiring! I am thinking now though that because this trip was so incredibly awesome that I might do a new blog post after this, just about the trip, when I get home, after I have slept. Yes that’s the plan!

Hey :)

I bought a blender the other day in Wilkinson's for £4.90 in an attempt to be more healthy, and I've always wanted one.

I used:
5 Strawberries
hand full of red berries
hand full of blue berries
3 scoops of berry ice-cream (Not healthy I know if you want healthier use ice or milk)

All from Sainsbury's... just because its only over the road.
In the first picture there are other items to because im planning on making some other flavours. :)

Here I used this pack of mixed berries and some extra strawberries from another punnet.

To put it in blunt terms, I put all of the ingredients in the beaker and blended it with the hand blender, this is why I love making these they are so easy and quick!

And then... Ta-da! One quick, healthy(ish) and tasty smoothie! I know it doesn't look amazing but it really did taste it! :)

The Power of Positivity and Productivity

Hey,

I read somewhere once that if you think positively your day will be 10% more productive.

I really believe that a positive mind can have a really good impact on my motivation and productiveness, this and coffee but I'm cutting down on that now because I don't want to rely on it.

At the moment I am on a sort of mission to 'cleanse' my room of negative energy hence my happiness poster and other such things like that also keeping it clean, tidy and aired really helps, stuffy rooms are horrible to sleep and work in.

No matter what situation I am in, I always try to see the positive in the situation because I feel if you don't you can be stuck in a sort of rut.

Tips to aid productivity that work for me

15 mins of cardio per day and to do lists really help me also, exercise or just generally getting out of the house and going for a walk can really help me focus and think, but always take a pen and paper because if your like me you might forget by the time you get home. :')

At the end of the day I make a to do list for the next, I also made a 'not to do' list of things that will distract me, for example my biggest distraction is YouTube.

Give yourself a 'power hour', one hour in the day where you switch off your phone and social networks and focus on your task wholeheartedly as it were. You'll be surprised how much you will get done and how much spare time you will have!

Holidays

London trip!

Hey,

Being from Newcastle it's a hassle to go home all of the time, therefore my parents have met me for a weekend in London!

New ambition to add to the list, live in Chelsea! Or South Kensington at least. Definitely helping me with my ambition in uni to work hard.

During the two days we visited the Victoria & Albert Museum, Harrods, Theatre and Camden market, I loved it all and picked up some lovely dresses from Camden, amazing place for one-off clothes, a must visit if your in London :)

Healthy Attempt

Hello,

Without sounding too much like a typical Bridget Jones on a new years re-branding mission, one of my resolutions was to be more healthy and fit :)

So far it has been going ok... ish. It could be better...

I joined up to the local gym for £15 a month and i am planning to go AT LEAST three times a week... fingers crossed.

tuna is a great post-workout meal

Last term I was a total sucker for ready meals, crappy food that was fast to make and eating at funny time i.e 11 pm. This term I am determent to eat good healthy food, cook more and generally be less crappy.

One of my favorite meals, jacket potato with ham, cheese and salad.

Another little thing also me and my Boyfriend are going round Canterbury trying to find the best afternoon tea, so far we have tried Susan's Cafe and La Trapistte Which were both nice but i have to say La Trapistte's Scones were Amaaazing! Defiantly recommend! Also healthy smoothies at the American Pancake Cafe are so lush.

New Year New Blog.

Hello,
Greatest apologies to the lack of posts over the Christmas season. happy merriment times and what not... no seriously though tuns of uni work was due for the beginning of term. So, not good.

New Blog
I do love writing about Make-up and Beauty etc. but im finding it a little difficult to keep the content going, and therefore I am changing my idea of my blog to be about my life though uni as a student with a open and free thinking mind looking to create my own self-brand though my PR, Marketing and Media degree and as a Northerner living in the south and generally my aspirations and views on things.

In this new year I hope to get fit and by that I mean toned from the gym of which I joined last week and a healthy diet, so have fun waiting with my suffer with that and do well in my first year of university that will be ending in may. apart from that I just wish to have a good and happy year. :)

Since my last post at the start of December it has been Christmas day and new year of which i both enjoyed very much, you could check out my instagram for pics on that if you like :). I also traveled back down to uni in the car and settled back into uni life here in Canterbury. I will try and post at least once a week from now on. Hopefully my next one this weekend though :)
